Phillip Cocu has endured something of an inconsistent first campaign as a Football League manager, with the former PSV Eindhoven boss having led his Derby County side up to 13th place in the Championship after a largely slow start to the season.

Arriving as a promising young manager from the Netherlands, Cocu has instilled a playing style at Pride Park which looks to utilise attacks down the flanks to stretch the opposition and create chances, whilst when his side are out of possession they tend to press high to force their opponents into mistakes.

Ultimately it took his new side a good few months to adapt to the rapid change in style and as a result the Rams largely struggled during the first few months of the campaign but have now seemingly found their feet with the signing of Wayne Rooney adding some real consistency to proceedings.

Despite his side finally adapting to his methods, Cocu is sure to see a few players move on during the summer as they eye a fresh start away from Pride Park.

Here, we take a look at TWO Derby County players who will surely be eyeing a fresh start this summer....

Florian Jozefzoon

The pacey Dutch winger has largely been out of favour this term for the Rams, with the 29-year-old having experienced various issues with injury and form respectively.

With only 10 appearances to his name this season, Jozefzoon will surely be eyeing a move away from Pride Park this summer as he seeks to get more regular game time.

The wideman only has one year remaining on his current contract and would surely be open to making a move away from the club if he was guaranteed to be a regular starter for any potential new suitor.

His time at Derby has largely failed to take off and as a result it would not be a surprise to see him leave for pastures new this summer.

Mason Bennett

The 23-year-old has of course been affected by matters of the pitch for much of the current campaign and could well seek a move away from Pride Park this summer as he looks to put what has been a forgetful season behind him.

Bennett had only been afforded nine appearances by Cocu before he was shipped out on loan to Championship rivals Millwall in January to link up with Gary Rowett, perhaps representing a signal of what the future holds for the attacker.

Given the player's age, he really needs to be playing regularly to develop his game further and as a result it would not be a surprise to see e former Chesterfield man make a permanent move to the New Den this summer if he impresses.

With his Derby contract set to expire this summer, there has never been a better time for Bennett to assess his future career prospects come the end of the season.
