Charlton Athletic still have a lot to play for in the final weeks of the Championship season as they desperately look to avoid relegation to League One.

Lee Bowyer's side were only promoted via the third-tier play-offs last season but, currently sat in 19th place, are just five points clear of the relegation zone.

Some, however, will be desperate to see the season end as soon as possible.

Here, we take a look at TWO Charlton players who will surely be eyeing a fresh start in the summer...

Ben Amos

He has never looked like displacing Dillon Phillips in the Charlton Athletic goal and Amos will surely be looking for more regular football in the summer.

The 29 year-old has made just one appearance so far this season and, given his age, that will not be sitting well with him.

What is the point in just sitting on the bench? I am sure that Amos will be eager to play regular football, even if that means dropping into League One next year.

QUIZ: How much can you remember about Charlton’s 2020 so far?

Tomer Hemed

He may have only arrived in the summer transfer window but it just has not worked out for him at The Valley - and that has not been down to a lack of games.

With injuries to both Macauley Bonne and Lyle Taylor throughout the season, Hemed has racked up 12 appearances but is yet to score a single goal.

There is a real chance that Charlton will be strengthening their front line in the summer with their new found wealth and it is unlikely that Hemed will be in the running come the start of next season.
