Derby County supporters have been reacting to comments made by the club's former midfielder Jeff Hendrick, following the Rams' decision to sack the defender after he turned down the offer of a contract on reduced terms, according to The Guardian.

Keogh sustained a serious knee ligament injury during an alcohol related incident involving team-mates Tom Lawrence and Mason Bennett, which will see the defender ruled out of action for around a year - and the Rams offered the club captain a deal that would have reduced his £24,000-a-week wages, but having turned down the contract Derby have decided to part company with him.

Hendrick, who enjoyed a six-year spell with Derby between before leaving the club to sign for Premier League Burnley in the summer of 2016, has been critical of the Rams' decision to sack Keogh as he looks to recover from his injury which will see him sidelined for 12-14 months.

Whilst it is understandable that Hendrick would want to offer support to Keogh, having played with the defender for four seasons at Derby and also playing alongside him whilst on international duty with the Republic of Ireland, it is also reasonable to consider that the club wanted to reduce his terms following his self-inflicted injury - and having turned down the offer of reduced terms the club felt they had to part ways.

Here then, we take a look at how Derby supporters responded to Hendrick's message on social media about the situation with Keogh...
