Leeds United have gotten themselves off to a fanstastic start in the Championship this season as two wins from two and some excellent football have showcased their pedigree.

It's clear to see that new manager Marcelo Bielsa has had an excellent effect on proceedings at Elland Road, and if they can continue their fine start, then the Premier League could well beckon come the end of May next year.

One player who has been key to their performances is attacking midfielder Pablo Hernandez, and the news that Hernandez intends to see out his contract at Elland Road - another two years - is something that will no doubt delight the Elland Road faithful.

Hernandez has developed into a key man for Leeds and has already got his name on the goalscoring and assist charts for this campaign.

Under Bielsa, Leeds are employing a style of high press football which has so far overawed their Championship opponents, but in players like Hernandez, they have people with the quality to ensure the team make the right decisions in attacking areas.

Hernandez is a class act, you simply do not play for the likes of Valencia without having something about you, and we are finally starting to see that for Leeds, with the 33-year-old arguably hitting his best form since moving to England.

With Leeds getting off to such a good start and the signs under Bielsa looking ominous, things can only get better for Hernandez and his team. The Spaniard oozes class at Championship level, and it might well be that this year, finally, Leeds see themselves back in the promised land.

Leeds fans, do you agree? Just how important is Hernandez? Let us know in the comments!
