Swansea City are in a decent position just below the play-offs, but it is not known whether they will lodge a serious bid for promotion.
Following relegation last season, the club were amongst the favourites for promotion, but it hasn’t worked out as well so far.
Graham Potter has used the January window to reassesses his squad and bring in some new talent.
Here, though, we look at three players we think could realistically leave the club by the end of the January transfer window, which is next week, due to a lack of game time or to raise money.
Do you agree, or can you see any other players being axed in the final week of January? Let us know in the comments below if so.
Daniel James to Leeds is a rumour that just won’t go away, as far as Swansea are concerned.
Although the stance from Potter may be that James is not for sale this month, they may cave in if the player demands a move to West Yorkshire, and James could leave.
Jefferson Montero has had a strange career – it promised so much but he has failed to sustain any consistency at Swansea and he could move this week.
The winger has failed to return to any form since his last injury, and it could be best for player and club to mutually agree for him to leave.
Following on with the theme of out of favour wingers, Nathan Dyer has been a great servant to Swansea, but he could well leave this month.
Now 31, Dyer has hardly featured for Potter’s side recently and he could want more regular game time by moving.
A player who is comparable in many ways, Wayne Routledge, has been impressive, but Dyer has failed to compete for a spot.
