Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers are set to lose Ola John as the Portuguese winger's season long loan at Molineux is set to be cut short, according to the Express & Star.

After Ola John impressed for Reading in the Championship last season, Wolves hierarchy and fans alike would have been hoping he can replicate that form for the Wanderers.

However, the 24-year-old winger has been stricken with injury since joining Wolverhampton Wanderers, a chronic hamstring problem has seen John miss three months of the season who has yet to feature under Paul Lambert.

Ola John's limited playing time has resulted in only two substitute appearances in the Championship, leaving both Ola John and Wolves frustrated.

Ola John's parent club S.L Benfica is set to cut the loan deal short and instead allow Ola John to join Iberian neighbours Deportivo La Coruna in the Spanish top flight.

Wolves fans, what do you make of the news? Are you disappointed to hear that Ola John will be returning early? Has he and Wolves been unlucky with his injury problems? Could he have still had something to offer in the second half of the season? Do Wolves need to look for a replacement, if so, who would you like to see Wolves bring in?
