Charlton Athletic won made it two wins in two by beating Blackpool at Bloomfield Road last night and many Addicks fans are excited by the performance of summer signing Ian Maatsen.

Both sides went down to 10 men in the first half but it took until the 83rd minute for Charlton to break the deadlock, with substitute Chuks Aneke scoring the only goal of the game.

Aneke nodded the winner in after Alfie Doughty's cushioned header back across the box, with Lee Bowyer's side seeing an earlier goal ruled out controversially by the referee.

Among the players used by Bowyer was Maatsen, with the 18-year-old Chelsea loanee making his debut for the Addicks after coming off the bench at the start of the second half.

The teenager is the latest player to make the switch from Stamford Bridge to the Valley, with both Conor Gallagher and Jay Dasilva doing it in recent years, and seems to have impressed supporters already.

Are these 10 facts about The Valley true or false?

Last night's game was Maatsen's first appearance since his professional debut in the Carabao Cup for Chelsea in 2019 and he appears to have left an impact on Charlton fans.
