David Prutton is expecting Leeds United and Sheffield United to play out an entertaining contest in the Sky Bet Championship this evening, with the Yorkshire rivals sharing the points, reports Sky Sports.

Writing in his prediction column for Sky, Prutton has not been able to separate Leeds and Sheffield United, predicting a 2-2 draw at Elland Road this evening, with Leon Clarke opening the scoring for the Blades.

Tonight’s contest sees fourth take on third, with the latter, Sheffield United, looking to move to the top of the Championship table ahead of tomorrow’s round of fixtures. Three points for Chris Wilder’s side will see them leapfrog Cardiff City and Wolverhampton Wanderers, and also open up a seven point gap to Leeds, who enter the weekend in fourth.

Leeds have been on a worrying run of form in the Championship recently, which is a stark contrast to tonight’s opponents, Sheffield United. Thomas Christiansen’s side have managed just two victories in their last six fixtures, in comparison to the Blades, who have four.

The Whites do enter tonight’s contest on the back of a positive result in the Championship, having ended a three-match losing streak last weekend with a 3-0 victory over Bristol City at Ashton Gate.

The Verdict

The general feeling is that tonight’s fixture promises to be one of the best games of the weekend in the Championship, with two exciting sides going head-to-head.

Sheffield United will be well fired up for the contest, with the added incentive of a place at the top of the Championship table. However, it is shaping up into a contest that Leeds cannot afford to lose.

We believe there will be a winner, with a goal either way settling it.
