West Bromwich Albion ended their pre-season campaign unbeaten with a resounding 4-0 victory over Birmingham City yesterday.

The Baggies are preparing to embark on life back in the Championship under new boss Valerien Ismael, with many tipping them to be among the candidates for promotion.

If pre-season is anything to go by, then Albion may well prove those backers correct, after thumping local rivals Birmingham City 4-0 yesterday afternoon.

After dominating a goalless first half period, goals from Grady Diangana and Matt Clarke sent Ismael’s side into a 2-0 lead.

Rayhaan Tulloch got his name on the scoresheet too, after Karlan Grant had made it 3-0 from the penalty spot on an impressive afternoon at St. Andrew’s.

Quiz: What was the score the last time West Brom played at each of these 24 stadiums?

What was the score when West Brom last played at Goodison Park?

The striker signed for West Brom in a Β£15million deal last summer, but scored only one goal in 21 Premier League appearances last term.

Grant is a proven goalscorer at this level, though, scoring 19 goals in 43 Championship appearances for Huddersfield Town in 2019/20.

He got his goal yesterday, but his overall performance was sharp, and it left plenty of Baggies fans optimistic about the forthcoming season…
