Many Birmingham City fans have taken to Facebook to react to the news that Fran Villalba has been linked with a move away from the club.
According to Spanish news outlet La Voz de Almeria, the midfielder is reportedly the subject of interest from Almeria.
Since joining Birmingham on a free transfer last summer, Villalba has struggled for consistency in the Championship.
Although the 21-year-old did illustrate a glimpse of what he is capable of producing during the Blues’ victory over Middlesbrough in October, he has failed to kick-on in recent months.
Having been forced to watch on from the sidelines since Birmingham’s 3-0 defeat to Hull City last month, Villalba could potentially be about to leave St Andrew’s.
Given that Almeria are currently fighting for promotion to La Liga, they will be aiming to bolster their squad this month in order to achieve this goal and thus Villalba may fit the bill.
