Plenty of Bristol City fans have criticised Lee Johnson for not picking Kasey Palmer, with the Robins now four matches without a league win.
The former Chelsea man joined the Ashton Gate club on a permanent basis last summer but has been limited to just 11 league starts.
Bristol City currently sit seventh in the table, two points adrift of Preston North End in sixth, but they have taken just one point from their last four matches and have won just twice since the start of February.
Lee Johnson’s side drew 1-1 with Millwall on Saturday and with the side struggling to create chances, many fans want to see the 23-year-old reinstated to the starting lineup.
In 21 appearances he has managed one goal and three assists, but also averages the most successful dribbles, tackles and through balls per 90 mins in the Bristol City squad.
Taking to Twitter, Bristol Post journalist Gregor McGregor made the case for a Palmer recall…
Only Luton Town average fewer shots on target per game than #BristolCity this season. While Kasey Palmer averages most successful dribbles, tackles and through balls in the squad per 90 mins. Not saying he’s the saviour, but shouldn’t he be involved more? https://t.co/ZyIFV9utsQ

Here are some of the best responses…
Worth a try – not a Palmer fan personally but needs must – Saturday going forward was awful and minus flare and creativity that he can Bring . LJ brought in Matty Taylor to save his job . May need Palmer to be his saviour this time 🤔( of the season not necessarily his job )

No doubt this is personal and LJ needs to get over it and play his best players. It’s the reason he will never be a top manager

but only ONE person can’t see this!!

Falls out with players or don’t like players never given a chance another flaw in the LJ team.Good management handle players and get the best out of them.

Wider question is why are players signed that are either incompatible with a particular system or incompatible with other players? Palmer and Eliasson are such examples. I accep not every signing will be a success. That’s football. Let’s see the LJ blueprint for 10 games.

We can only but hope he outlasts Johnson.
