‘Will give him some confidence’ – Many Nottingham Forest fans react as Joe Lolley shines

Nottingham Forest Under-23s’ began their Premier League Cup campaign with a 4-1 over Blackburn Rovers last night.

The Reds went ahead after four minutes, with Joe Lolley finding the bottom corner with a low strike to give his side the lead.

Blackburn did find a leveller soon after, with Sam Burns charging down Nicky Hogarth’s kick with the ball rebounding into the net.

But it was one-way traffic after that, with goals either side of half-time from Lolley and Ateef Konate putting the Reds into a 3-1 lead.

Will Swan made it 4-1 just after the hour mark, rounding off an impressive night’s work for Andy Reid’s side and kicking off their Premier League Cup campaign with a win.

Forest fans were delighted to see Lolley get some minutes, having been missing for the last three first-team matches due to illness.

They were even more delighted to see Lolley net a brace, with the winger struggling to replicate the form he displayed in 2018/19 and 2019/20.

It may have been for the Under-23s’, but they will be hoping that the winger can take this confidence and form into the first-team.

Here, we take a look at Forest fans’ reactions to Lolley’s performance at Meadow Lane…
