Coventry City will be looking to build upon their impressive start to the 2021/22 campaign by picking up points on a regular basis in the Championship over the Christmas period.

Set to face West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, the Sky Blues could send out a real signal of intent to the rest of the division by producing an eye-catching performance in this particular fixture.

Currently sixth in the second-tier standings, it will be fascinating to see whether Coventry are able to emerge as legitimate contenders for a play-off place in the coming months.

Whilst manager Mark Robins may be tempted to strengthen his squad in the upcoming window, he could also potentially wave goodbye to some of the club's fringe players.

Here, we have decided to take a look at the latest Coventry transfer talking points ahead of January...

Will Declan Drysdale seal a temporary exit from the club?

Declan Drysdale would have been hoping to force his way into contention for a place in Coventry's starting eleven this season after being loaned out to Cambridge United during the previous campaign.

However, due to the presence of Jake Clarke-Salter, Kyle McFadzean, Michael Rose and Dominic Hyam, the central-defender has been limited to just one appearance in the current term.

With Robins recently confirming that he is willing to sanction another temporary move for Drysdale, it will be interesting to see whether the 22-year-old attracts any suitors in January.

By sending Drysdale to a team who are willing to provide him with regular first-team football, the defender may be able to make considerable strides in terms of his development before returning to Coventry later this year.

Can Coventry find a suitor for Josh Pask?

Another player who could be set for a January departure is Josh Pask.

Robins recently admitted that the Sky Blues are open to the possibility of letting the defender seal an exit from the Coventry Building Society Arena.

Yet to feature for the club in the Championship this season, Pask's only appearance to date came during Coventry's League Cup defeat to Northampton Town in August.

With his contract set to expire next summer, the upcoming transfer window represents the final chance that the Sky Blues will get to receive a fee for him and thus it wouldn't be at all surprising if he makes a permanent departure.

By finding a suitor for Pask who are willing to pay a sum for him next month, Coventry will be able to close the chapter on the defender's stint at the club.
