As far as Championship clubs go this summer so far, Reading have been one of the quiet ones in the transfer market as they look to go at least one position better in the 2021-22 campaign.

After spending much of last season in the top six, the Royals finished in seventh position which would have been a bitterly disappointing end to Veljko Paunovic's first year in charge.

Surprisingly no swift moves have been made so far to bolster the squad, although Omar Richards has left for the greener pastures of European giants Bayern Munich in a move that simply could not be turned down.

There has been some off-field changes though today as two staff members have departed the club.

After he made just nine league appearances for the club, Ireland international John O'Shea transitioned into a coaching role with the club in the summer of 2019 and worked under Jose Gomes, Mark Bowen and Paunovic.

But now he has left the club, as well as the more experienced Eddie Niedzwiecki, who was brought to the club by Bowen when he took charge and remained as assistant to Paunovic when he took over.

It looks as though the Serb will be bringing in his own staff now but Royals fans seem disappointed at the news that the two men have departed the club - check out their reaction below.
