After five long years of waiting, the Steel City derby is back this Sunday and it's sure to be a thriller given the good starts both sides have made.

The Blades in particular have flourished this season, on their return to the second tier, and will be hopeful of landing a major away win for their fans at Hillsborough.

Chris Wilder's men suffered their first home defeat of the season last time out against Norwich City, but the red and white half of Sheffield still occupy 6th position.

Meanwhile, Carlos Carvalhal's side are undefeated since the opening day and know victory on Sunday would see them leapfrog their bitter rivals.

With a frenetic pace expected and some crunching tackles, this is a game that could suit certain personnel, however, players will need to keep their heads so they don't cost their team.

Ched Evans

With Clayton Donaldson, Billy Sharp and Leon Clarke absent last week, Ched Evans led the line against Norwich.

In fairness to Evans, his manager acknowledged that he wasn't fully fit and was playing through pain, but it will be an easy decision for Wilder to revert back to top scorer Sharp in the derby.

The Welsh forward will likely occupy a place on the bench, but Blades fans will have appreciated the commitment he displayed last week.

Mark Duffy

Another who's place could be under threat is Mark Duffy.

He has featured in six of the eight games United have played in the league this year but has been subbed each time.

The influence of Samir Carruthers has been restricted by the form of others and injury this season, but Hillsborough could be the perfect opportunity for him to shine.

His busy style and ability to keep the ball could be key in the red-hot atmosphere on Sunday.
