Wilder expects Northampton to challenge

Chris Wilder has said he is assembling a squad capable of competing in League Two according to BBC Sport.

In an interview with BBC Radio Northampton Wilder said “We feel it is an open league and we’ll back ourselves, hopefully last season was a one-off, in terms of where the club was at.” Northampton finished the 2013-14 season in 21st place on 53 points, only one season after reaching the play off final before being beat 3-0 by Bradford.

After last seasons last day escape from relegation Wilder has signed defender Zander Diamond, winger Kaid Mohamed and striker Marc Richards already for his assault on League Two next season.
