Chris Wilder has revealed that the deal to bring Oliver Norwood to Bramall Lane was a financially good one for Sheffield United, whilst also revealing that the midfielder always wanted to make the move to South Yorkshire.

Confirmation has come this afternoon from Sheffield United, who have confirmed that Norwood has arrived at Bramall Lane, initially on-loan, before that deal will be made permanent in the January.

Norwood won promotion with Fulham last season in the Championship, with the 27-year-old midfielder impressing at Craven Cottage.

Wilder has now been discussing his latest recruit, revealing that the Northern Irish international always wanted to join the Blades.

Discussing Norwood with Andy Giddings from BBC Sheffield, Wilder also revealed it was a good deal for the club to complete financially:

The Blades have started the season in sloppy form, but did manage to pick up their first victory of the campaign on Saturday, as goals from Billy Sharp and David McGoldrick secured a 2-1 victory over Queens Park Rangers.

Attention will now turn to the Carabao Cup, with Wilder’s side taking on Hull City.

Discussing Norwood with Giddings, Wilder revealed that the midfielder will be involved against the Tigers.

Norwood is a good addition to Sheffield United’s squad, with Wilder clearly delighted to get the signing over the line.

Wilder’s comments are promising, with supporters sure to be delighted to hear that the midfielder wanted to go to Bramall Lane.
