There’s some big games coming up this weekend in the Championship and Sheffield United will certainly be looking to perform in their’s as they head to Sunderland for an eye-catching fixture.
The Blades have started life back in the Championship fairly well this season and a win over the relegated Sunderland would certainly boost confidence – especially with the game at the Stadium of Light.
Boss Chris Wilder, then, will be aiming for a big three points but he has today confirmed that he will not be able to call on Caolan Lavery’s services this weekend, nor for a few weekends after that either.
Indeed, as per Jonathan Buchan on Twitter, Wilder has revealed that the forward will be out for what seems to be a month:

Fortunately, the Blades have Billy Sharp up top and scoring goals and so that should soften the blow somewhat considerably as we head into the first busy part of the season after the international break.
Meanwhile, Lavery will be looking to recover from his injury as soon as possible and then try to oust Sharp from the side.
It’s a frustrating turn of events for Lavery with him being limited to just 66 minutes of action so far this season in the Championship.
Certainly, he needs to get fit as quick as possible and then prove to Wilder he’s ready to perform in the second tier as Billy Sharp continues to deliver the good up top for the Blades.
