Wigan Athletic are set to complete the signing of Bolton Wanderers winger Sanmi Odelusi, according to HITC Sport.
Athletic boss Gary Caldwell is in the process of rebuilding his squad after a number of high profile stars departed the DW Stadium following the club’s relegation from the Championship.
The highly-rated winger has been identified by Caldwell as the man to replace James McClean, after the Republic of Ireland international joined West Bromwich Albion this week.
Odelusi joined Bolton in 2009 following spells as a youth player with both Queens Park Rangers and Reading, but has failed to hold down a regular place in the first-team at the Macron Stadium.
The 22-year-old has tasted first-team football during loan spells with MK Dons and Coventry City during the last two seasons.
Last season he was especially impressive during a loan spell with the Sky Blues, scoring three goals in the 14 appearances with his performances now appearing to have caught the eye of Wigan.
Wigan fans… Would you welcome Odelusi?
