League One promotion hopefuls Wigan Athletic are hoping to seal a deal for goalkeeper Christian Walton in the summer, with the Brighton mans impressing his manager Paul Cook with his form so far this season.
According to respected journalist Alan Nixon, the Latics are keen to tie up a second spell at the club for the 22-year-old stopper, and it is believed his parent club Brighton could be open to the idea of letting Walton out on loan once again.
Wigan are expected to complete a return to the Championship following an excellent run of form which has seen them usurp Shrewsbury in the hunt for automatic promotion alongside Blackburn Rovers, and the club will be hoping their Championship status can convince Walton to make a second move to the club.
The stopper has been a key part of the campaign so far which has also included a memorable FA Cup win over Manchester City in which Walton produced a string of fine saves to deny the Premier League champions elect.
Wigan fans, what have you made of Walton? Would signing him again be a big bonus? Let us know in the comments!
