Wigan Athletic will be looking to stretch their unbeaten home run to five when they welcome Swansea City to the DW Stadium on Saturday, and manager Paul Cook has delivered an early team update.

The Latics have won their last three matches on home soil without conceding a single goal and will be looking to continue that run against a Swansea side who have only two of their last seven games.

Paul Cook confirmed on Friday to that Charlie Mulgrew, who is recovering from an injury picked up against Derby County last week, will not be back in contention until after the international break.

Speaking of Mulgrew's professionalism, Cook told the club's official media channels that: "Charlie's, Charlie. He's already got his head down working hard and he's back out on the grass recovering. It's looking like he'll be back in contention after the international fixtures this month."

Midfielder Lee Evans is also set to miss the game against the Swans due to an ongoing calf injury.

Cook noted that Evans still has a little bit to do before being back in contention: "As for Lee Evans, unfortunately Lee had a little recurrence of his calf problem, so he's still got work to do. Other than Charlie and Lee, everyone else is available for selection."

Defender Tom Pearce will continue work on a fracture in his back and Cedric Kipre could make his 100th appearance for the Latics if he features on Saturday.

The Verdict

It will be good to hear for Latics fans that Mulgrew and Evans aren't far away from returning to the fold with the former bringing a wealth of experience to the side.

Apart from the two missing out, Cook has a fully fit squad to chose from and the fans will be optimistic of their side building on their impressive home form.

Cedric Kipre has featured in Wigan's last two games and a clean sheet on Saturday would be the perfect way for the defender to celebrate his 100th appearance for the club.
