Brighton and Hove Albion are interested in Wigan Athletic defender Dan Burn, according to reports.
According to The Daily Mail, Brighton have submitted a £3m offer for Burn.
The towering 6ft 7in centre-half has been identified as a top target by the Seagulls, who are also looking at a £8m swoop for Sheffield United's Jack O'Connell.
Chris Hughton is desperate to strengthen his options at centre-back, despite having Leon Balogun, Shane Duffy and Lewis Dunk on his books at the moment.
Burn has played nearly 100 games for Wigan since his 2016 arrival from Fulham, establishing himself as one of the most reliable performers at the club.
The 26-year-old was named in the PFA Team of the Year last season as he helped Wigan to promotion.
Wigan could sanction Burn's exit after signing Cedric Kipre from Motherwell last week.
The Verdict
Burn was a rock at the back for Wigan last season in League One, but would he be able to make the step up?
For the player, it is a choice between being a starter for Wigan in the Championship or a fourth choice at Premier League Brighton.
My feeling is that he should remain with the Latics for now, building his career up with regular game time.
