League One side Wigan Athletic are the favourites to sign Chesterfield star Sam Clucas, according to the Sheffield Star.
The 23-year-old signed for the Spireites from rivals Mansfield Town last summer for an undisclosed fee and starred in a stunning season for the club that saw them charge into the League One play-offs following their League Two title winning season.
He’s a versatile player who usually plays on the left wing, but can also play in central midfield and also filled in up front during the second half of the season after League One top scorer Eoin Doyle joined Cardiff City.
Cardiff, Reading, Leeds have all been linked with moves for the former Leicester City man, although Norwich and Wigan are the front runners for his signature.
Two bids have already been rejected by Chesterfield, one of which came from Wigan, the other is from an unknown club.
