Wigan Athletic are closing in on securing the services of Kieffer Moore from Barnsley, according to Sun journalist Alan Nixon.
The 26-year-old forward is set to undergo a medical at the DW Stadium as the Latics look to finalise a deal reportedly worth £3m, as per the Daily Mail.
If, as expected, Moore joins Wigan, he will be Paul Cook's eighth signing of the summer so far and his third in the last week alone following the recent arrivals of Jamal Lowe and Dujon Sterling.
Despite missing a considerable chunk of last season due to a serious head injury, the forward still managed to play a major role in helping Barnsley secure promotion to the Championship by firing in 17 goals and providing three assists for his team-mates in 31 appearances.
Left out of the Tykes' squad by Daniel Stendel on Saturday for the club's opening day victory over Fulham, Moore is set to make the switch from Yorkshire to Lancashire to join their Championship rivals.

The Verdict
This could turn out to be a shrewd bit of business by Cook providing that Moore can replicate the form that he demonstrated last season over the next nine months for Wigan.
An extremely gifted forward, the former Ipswich Town man will be determined to prove himself in the Championship after failing to hit the mark for Barnsley at this particular level in the past, scoring just four goals in 20 appearances during the 2017/18 season.
Whereas there is no doubting that he has improved as a player since this particular campaign, he will have to hit the ground running for Wigan in order to challenge the likes of Joe Garner and Josh Windass for a starting role under Cook.
Furthermore, given that the Latics are prepared to splash out a considerable fee for Moore, it is paramount that he is able to deal with the pressure which will be on him to perform.
