Manchester United striker, Nick Powell could be facing a return to the DW Stadium, HITC believe.

Wigan Athletic are looking to re-sign Nick Powell back on loan from Manchester United after a successful spell with the Lactics last season. Uwe Rosler has already secured the signature of five players this summer, making sure that the Lancashire side have a solid defence. However, Rosler has only bought one attacking player this window, with 28-year-old Oriol Riera from Spanish outfit Osasuna arriving at the DW Stadium.

The 20-year-old appeared in 32 games last season for the Lactics, scoring on seven occasions, making the 45-year-old boss determined to re-claim Nick Powell. Rosler spoke to Wigan Today saying that he is assessing the squads current condition:

“I’m looking at the midfield and also central striking positions, and we will continue to look for options there.

“Whether that will be permanent signings or loans for six or 12 months, we will have to wait and see.”

Wigan Athletic are looking to return to the top-flight at the second time of asking this campaign, so bolstering his attacking options could be Rosler’s top priority after making sure that the Lactics defence was secure.
