According to HITC Sport, a host of Championship and League One clubs are lining up January moves for Rochdale midfielder Nathaniel Mendez-Laing.

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing is subject to interest from Championship struggling duo Wigan Athletic and Rotherham United as well as League One trio Millwall, Charlton Athletic and Bolton Wanderers.

The 24-year-old has been in impressive form for high-flying Rochdale this season, with four goals and two assists as the Dale have climbed into the play-off zone in League One.

But with his contract set to expire in the summer, a number of clubs have been alerted to his situation and are weighing up a January move.

Rochdale might be tempted to cash in on their young winger now to avoid losing him on a free at the end of the season.

The former England under-17 wide man previously had spells with Wolves, Peterborough and loans to Portsmouth, Shrewsbury and Cambridge before his switch to Spotland.

Wigan, Rotherham, Millwall, Charlton and Bolton fans – would you take Mendez-Laing at your club? What could he offer you?

Rochdale fans – can you keep Mendez-Laing in January? Could he sign a new deal? Let us know in the comments below…
