Wigan and Barnsley are fighting it out with a number of League One clubs to land the signature of Middlesbrough striker, George Miller according to TEAMtalk.

Miller has scored three goals in 16 appearances for a struggling Bradford City side this season that are battling to stay in League One.

He is currently on a season-long loan deal with the Bantams, but Middlesbrough are thought to be eager to recall him, in order to sell him on a permanent basis.

Bradford will be eager to keep Miller at Valley Parade for the remainder of the season, otherwise they will have to dip into the transfer market to find a replacement.

Doncaster Rovers, Peterborough and Luton are also said to be rivalling Wigan and Barnsley to strike a deal for the youngster.

Barnsley in particular could be of interest for Miller, as he could be first-choice striker at Oakwell if Kieffer Moore is to leave the club, amid reports from the Northern Echo that he is wanted by Sunderland.

Some will argue that he might not be the most prolific of strikers in front of goal, but his hard work ethic hasn't gone unnoticed, and he evidently is a striker in demand.

But the clubs interested will have to act quickly to strike a deal for Miller, with the transfer window closing in just six days time.

The Verdict:

This would be an excellent bit of business for whoever can land his signature.

Miller is a promising talent who needs to settle permanently, and he could prove to be a very good signing, providing he is given regular game time to develop.

He's a player who is in-demand, so it's clear to see that there is something about him.
