Wolves have already been linked with a host of high-profile players since they won promotion back to the Premier League and many expect the Black Country side to make some real statement signings.

One man that they have regularly been linked with is AC Milan's Andre Silva, although recent reports suggest they haven't yet made a move for the striker.

However, he is exactly the sort of player that Wolves need and may not be out of their reach.

Firstly, the Italian giants are in financial trouble and sales are likely because of that. And, Silva is a player they would surely look to shift as he can't get in the team despite a big-money move from Porto 12 months ago.

So, whilst his availability shouldn't be an issue, this also makes sense for Wolves who will be helped by the fact the Portugal international is represented by Jorge Mendes.

He is a big-name arrival, which would send out a message to other clubs that they are to be taken serious this season, whilst it could also help attract new players.

More importantly, they desperately need a quality striker. Leo Bonatini looks set to return to Al Hilal which leaves Benik Afobe as the only senior, natural forward and even he is only on loan.

Silva would come straight into the team and has the technique, link-up play and movement to thrive in the 3-4-3 formation that Wolves adopt and could be the clinical finisher they need.

Additionally, he has played under Nuno Espirito Santo, enjoying the best season of his career under the Wolves boss at Porto, so Silva knows he would be joining a manager that can get the best out of him.

Ultimately, it makes a lot of sense for everyone if Silva made the move to Molineux this summer.
