West Brom are planning for life in the Championship but there could be a lot of changes at The Hawthorns before the season starts in August.

Albion have already lost defender Jonny Evans and several more first-team players are expected to depart before in the coming months.

However, they are making moves themselves in the market, with reports suggesting the West Midlands side have bid £7m for Bristol City's Bobby Reid.

The initial offer may not be enough to convince the Robins to sell, but it's vital West Brom do all they can to close a deal for the talented forward.

Firstly, the Baggies are seriously short on options up front and they could become even more limited if Salomon Rondon and Jay Rodriguez leave.

And, Reid has proven himself to be a capable goalscorer at this level, hitting 19 for Lee Johnson's men last season, and they are the sort of numbers Albion will need from a number nine if they are to go up.

Importantly, Reid offers a lot more for the team as well. Capable of dropping between the lines, he could be the creative link in the final third that allows Albion to play a more attractive brand of football, which Darren Moore has to prioritise.

Finally, at 25-years old, he has a lot of time to improve and would bring an energy and freshness to an ageing squad that needs shaking up.
