Coventry City fans will seriously fancy their chances of another memorable season, with four successive wins pushing them to the bring of the League One play-offs.

The Sky Blues were only promoted at the end of last season, with a 3-1 Wembley win over Exeter City, but the fans will be dreaming of a double promotion.

It would be a fairytale for the fans of the club, who have had their fair share of heartache over the last decade, thanks to awful ownership and subsequent relegations and poor showings on the pitch.

But, after four straight wins, Coventry fans have reason to be cheerful.

Two goals inside the first 11 minutes on Tuesday night were enough to see off a disarrayed Bradford City side, who are now bottom of the division.

Former Bradford player Jordy Hiwula was the star as Mark Robins’ side picked off the Bantams.

All this talk of promotion makes one think they must be in the top two or something, but Coventry are actually only in 8th in the table. Despite this, they are the form team and if they can extend their winning run further, they will believe.

Some fans took to social media in delirium of their sides’ performance, with jives such as ‘automatic promotion here we come!’ That may be slightly over the top, but the optimism is admirable and also understandable.

Coming up for Robins’ side are home fixtures against two sides above them: Doncaster Rovers and Accrington Stanley.

They will be extremely tough matches, but if Coventry can get at least 4 points from them, there is no reason why they can’t be considered serious promotion candidates.

It may not be everything, but the next week or so will define whether the Sky Blues are to be feared by other teams.
