After an excellent debut season back in the Championship for Barnsley and Paul Heckingbottom, the Tykes will be hoping to use the summer to add further strength and depth to the squad in order to continue to progress.

Whilst a number of stars have left over the course of the season including Alfie Mawson to Premier League side Swansea City, captain Conor Hourihane and talented young full-back James Bree to Aston Villa and Sam Winnall to South Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday, Barnsley have done well to find suitable replacements.

In the summer, once Ryan Kent returns to Liverpool, it will free up space on the right hand flank for Adam Hammill to return to his natural position on the right wing.

However, the return of Adam Hammill to the right wing will mean that there is a vacant spot on the left wing for Paul Heckingbottom to bring in a new recruit.

As Barnsley continue to develop a reputation for astute signings, the permanent capture of Harry Bunn from Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield Town could well prove to be a masterstroke.

Although the 24-year-old winger has struggled for game time and opportunities this season following the arrival of Rajiv van La Parra, Harry Bunn has proved that he is more than capable of performing at the Championship level.

During the 2015-16 season, Harry Bunn directly contributed to eighteen goals for the West Yorkshire side with six goals and twelve assists in all competitions.

With Harry Bunn on the very periphery of Huddersfield Town's squad, he is likely to leave in the summer. If Paul Heckingbottom can help Harry Bunn re-find his 2015-16 form, the move could well prove to be a masterstroke.
