With another season in the Championship all but secured after flirting with relegation for much of the campaign, Bristol City fans will hope that next year will be a little less nervy for their side.

The Robins have been largely disappointing this season, but one man that has been able to get fans off their seats has been the impressive Tammy Abraham.

On loan from Premier League leaders, Chelsea, Abraham has scored a phenomenal 23 times in 38 appearances, and has single handedly helped his team to avoid the drop.

There is no chance that the young striker will be at Ashton Gate next season, with a number of Premier League and Championship clubs eyeing up a move for a player.

Chelsea are also reported to be considering using Abraham as a makeweight in a deal for Everton’s Romelu Lukaku.

Manager Lee Johnson will have to replace his talismanic striker if his side have any hope of avoiding another relegation scrap next season, and one man to turn to may be Doncaster’s John Marquis.

The former Millwall man has been prolific in League Two this season, and has scored 26 times in the league since moving to Yorkshire on a free transfer last summer.

Doncaster will be reluctant to lose their key man heading into their first season back in League One, but Bristol City should move for the player to replace Abraham’s goals.

Marquis represents an affordable, reliable option, and Lee Johnson should look to sign the player up.
