After a great opening half of the season under Thomas Christiansen, Leeds United fans were looking to a strong January window to confirm a spot in the playoffs at least.
Adam Forshaw arrived from Middlesbrough to great acclaim from the Elland Road faithful. This was the exact sort of signing they needed, whilst left-back Laurens De Bock moved from Brugge to offer more competition at left-back.
But the fans had one big problem with the rest of their January signings. Their age.
Tyler Roberts, Yosuke Ideguchi, Sam Dalby and Jordan Stevens were all teenagers upon moving to the club and were sent out on loan almost immediately. Apart from Roberts, who injured himself soon after joining.
Another 19-year-old was to arrive as well from Finland.
This is FLW Rewind where we take a look back at a big decision made by a club, analyse the initial reaction and document what happened next.
This time we will be looking at centre-back Aapo Halme's move from HJK Helsinki.
The highly-rated defender arrived at Elland Road for around £500,000 but was put straight into the club's development squad. Much to the disappointment of the fans:
And he was not to play a first-team match that season with Paul Heckingbottom not taking a shine to him either after arriving in February.
It is now November and we are 17 matches into the following season and the Finnish defender is still awaiting his debut for the club.
He will have been given a boost by the arrival of Marcelo Bielsa, however, and his subsequent use of the Whites' youth talent.
In fact, there is talk that with Pontus Jansson out injured that the Argentinian will turn to Halme to play in against Bristol City this weekend.
It could potentially be make or break for the youngster because, as of yet, he has had next to no impact on the club.
