Sheffield United's preparation for life in the Premier League next season will have been knocked slightly amid speculation linking their manager Chris Wilder with the vacant manager's post at Middlesbrough, as reported in the Express & Star.

Wilder, 51, is already a target of another Championship side West Brom, but with his Blades side looking forward to playing in the English top-flight next season, it seems unlikely that any interested clubs could make a pitch that would tempt him to move.

So do you think there is any mileage in the reports linking Wilder with Boro?

We discuss........

Ben Lang

"I don't think there's any truth in this.

"Boro would of course be interested in Wilder's services, but I think his commitment to Sheffield United is too strong for him to leave.

"It is also a once in a lifetime opportunity for him to leave his boyhood club in the top-flight and it would be ludicrous for him to drop back down a division."

Kealan Hughes

"It would be a very strange move. Wilder has accomplished so much at Sheffield United, and it is no secret that he is a fan of the club.

"Why then would he leave to go back down to the Championship, with a club and a squad that needs rebuilding.

"The only appealing factor is the budget he would have at his disposal, which is greater than at Sheffield United, but Wilder in recent seasons has achieved despite the odds and he will want to continue that success."

Louie Chandler

"None whatsoever.

"I know a bit has been made about his views on what is going on behind the scenes at Sheffield United but I just don't see him leaving.

"Why would he throw away the chance to manage in the Premier League after working so hard to reach that stage?"

Gary Hutchinson

“None at all.

“Anyone who thinks this might happen needs to see a doctor, right now.

“Why on earth would he go? He’s loved in Sheffield, at least in the red half of it.

“He doesn’t seem motivated by money and he’s just got a side who believe in him through two divisions in three season.

“Remember these four words; Not. Going. To. Happen.”

Jacob Potter

"Not a chance.

"Wilder would be foolish to throw away what he has built at Sheffield United.

"I don’t care how big the issues are behind the scenes at Sheffield United, you don’t walk away from a job in the Premier League to move back down to the Championship.

"I’d be stunned if this happened."
