Chelsea fans will still be reeling following their comprehensive defeat to Manchester United in the FA Cup, the latest result to call into question the future of Blues manager Maurizio Sarri, with the Chelsea board reported on Sky Sports to be considering either Zinedine Zidane or Frank Lampard as a potential replacement.

Though Zidane's credentials at the highest level are in no doubt, Lampard is still only halfway through his first season as a manager and though a Chelsea playing legend, should still be considered a managerial novice.

But with recently successful former players performing well at Manchester United and Rangers, would Derby boss Frank Lampard be the right man for Chelsea?

We discuss.....

Louie Chandler

"Absolutely not.

"It would be a great PR move but he has not even fully proven himself in the Championship with Derby.

"He has shown that he clearly has the makings of a good manager but throwing him into the Chelsea cauldron now would do no one any good."

Jacob Potter

"My heart says yes.

"The only club that is going to be able to prize Frank Lampard away from Derby is Chelsea, and he would be tempted to join the Blues.

"But this isn’t the right time for him to go there.

"He could severely damage his glowing reputation if he moved there this season."

Gary Hutchinson

“Absolutely not!

“Why on earth would he even be considered?

“He’s managed to get them to the edge of the play off race, but not actually in it.

“He’s technically done worse than Rowett!”

Alfie Burns

“Absolutely not.

“What’s he achieved at Derby? He’s got a good squad playing pretty football?

“He’s not ready and won’t be for some time.”

Jay Taylor

“No, he is too inexperienced.

“The knowledge of the club would be an attraction to the Chelsea hierarchy, but he is still learning the management game and going from a Championship side to a team like Chelsea is a step too far.

“The personalities he would have to deal with are in a different league to what he has to manage now.

“I think he needs to cut his teeth still before even being considered for a position of that magnitude.”
