‘Why not play him?’ – Paul Lambert has decisions to make with Ipswich XI v Bristol City

Despite already having a few matches under his belt, Ipswich Town continue to be rooted to the basement of the Championship table under new boss Paul Lambert, five points adrift of their closest rivals.

With defeat in their last outing against in-form West Brom at the weekend, the Tractors Boys have still only registered one win this season ahead of the midweek clash with Bristol City.

So should Lambert make any changes to the Ipswich XI v Bristol City?

We discuss…..

Jay Taylor

I could see him making changes.

Against West Brom, Jordan Roberts was playing up front – and he is usually a winger.

With Kayden Jackson playing for the U23s, he could be welcomed back into the fold and it would be a welcome return for the striker.

Ipswich need their better players back as soon as possible in order to cut the deficit at the bottom of the league.

Gary Hutchinson

I don’t think they did too badly against West Brom, but they do need some sort of spark up top.

I know Jackson scored, but I wouldn’t start him.

Could there be a place for Andre Dozzell?

He’s an unknown quantity and might bright some life to their attacking play.

George Harbey

I think Kayden Jackson deserves a chance up top.

He offers pace and presence up front and looked bright against West Brom grabbing a late consolation.

Why not play him?
