Luton Town are on the cusp of securing a play-off place in the Championship, in just their third campaign since winning the League One title in 2018/19.

The Hatters were in and around the top six conversation for the first half of the season before a drop-off around the turn of the year saw them slip under the radar.

However, with games in hand and tonnes of momentum, Nathan Jones has masterminded a sensational run that has them on the brink of preparing for a play-off semi final clash.

Harry Cornick has been a key performer for the Hatters this season with 12 goals in all competitions, and the 27-year-old revealed what he has been dreaming of lately when he appeared on The Totally Football League Show.

He said: "I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought about it (playing in the Premier League).

"Most evenings at the minute, I'm thinking about what could be, the dream, everyone thinks about it, going to Wembley, scoring the winner at Wembley would be unbelievable, or getting promotion.

"It's the dream, every kid wants to play in the Premier League, so why not dream about it? Because it's what we want to achieve and we think we're good enough.

"So, I think we've got a great chance."

The neutral support is definitely with Luton, picturing the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Pep Guardiola making the trip to Kenilworth Road next season.

The Verdict

Different players will approach the pressure of the situation in different ways.

Cornick is more than comfortable embracing the opportunity and where the Hatters are in the table, enjoying the moment rather than worrying about what the consequences of them not making the cut would be.

The positive thing with that approach, is that there is not a lot to be concerned about if the Hatters do not win promotion, they will continue to operate in a very smart and sustainable manner, and probably build an even more impressive push next season, with Nathan Jones clearly very committed to the project at the club.

Cornick's performances could prove to be hugely significant in what could be the Hatters' finest hour.
