Neil Harris has already started his summer shopping with the news of a pre-season arrival ahead of the transfer window opening in July.

Harry Ransom has agreed to move to The Den from National League South outfit Eastbourne Borough, the club confirmed on Monday afternoon.

The 19-year-old will join up with the club’s development side, linking up with the U23s.

That is the step below the first team and Ransom will be aiming to blow away the powers that be to force his way into the first team.

Ransom has been training with Millwall and then released back to Eastbourne on Thursday’s ahead of their matches in the National League.

So, the defender who has played in midfield and up front will know his surroundings well ahead of the summer move.

More importantly, too, he will know his teammates and will fit in seamlessly come July.

He will be thinking this is his chance to make it in professional football, at 19, he is nowhere near the finished article, but the faith Millwall have shown in him to sign the youngster should be commended.

And Ransom will be aiming to repay that ten-fold, no less when he turns out for the Lions next season.

Getting his head down, working hard and progressing on the pitch for the U23s will make Harris aware of the youngster and make first-team opportunities more available to him be in cup competitions, or a senior call up through injury.

He will be aiming to take this chance with both hands, and seeing as he is one of the highly-rated young players outside the EFL, there is every chance he can do it.

Ransom will not want to waste the opportunity he has worked hard for will do all he can to show he is too good to be ignored by Harris, and that will come by way of consistent, commanding performances for the young Lions in development matches moving forward.
