Charlton Athletic are weighing up a move for former Manchester City goalkeeper Curtis Anderson following his appearance for the club's Under-23 side on Monday, according to The Sun journalist Alan Nixon.

Anderson spent six months plying his trade for Charlotte Independence in the USA's second tier following his departure from City in March 2019, but the 19-year-old has been without a club since August after seeing his contract terminated in the States.

The goalkeeper is now being considered by the Addicks as they look to bolster their goalkeeping department, with Anderson having featured for the Under-23 side during their 2-2 draw with their Reading counterparts on Monday afternoon.

Anderson made 10 senior appearances during his brief stint playing for Charlotte Independence in 2019, while he arrives with high pedigree after playing a key role during the England Under 17s' impressive World Cup triumph back in 2017.

One Charlton supporter took to the Charlton Athletic FC(The unofficial & UnCensored Charlton Fans Group) Facebook group to share news of the club's interest in Anderson's services, with many fans then offering their views on the potential signing.

Here are some of the responses...

Mitch Johnson: Why? We have a great GK.

Stewart Latcham: Why do we need a keeper? 🤔

Ben Jones: Need to focus on defence rather than GK surely?

Andrew Socky Filmer: Good one to have on the books, although I thought Ashley Maynard-Brewer was going to be the next thing.

Sean Casey: Just get rid of Amos, not good enough in my opinion.

Roy Piper: Our goals allowed have nothing to do with our keeper.
