Leeds United have been mixing it at the top of the league with all of the big-boys this season, and there's genuine hope on the Elland Road terrace that Garry Monk is close to leading his side back into the Premier League.

The Whites have been there or there about's all season and have done a fantastic job of maintaining consistency, despite facing some dips in form over the past few months.

But looking ahead to the summer months, whether the Whites are promoted or not, there will be a real need to add to the squad in order to ensure the team remains full of quality for whatever journey will be taken next season.

And one man that has been really writing headlines this season is 17-year-old Nottingham Forest striker Ben Brereton, who just this week, has been nominated for the Championship Apprentice of the Year award.

It's easy to see why too - the £213k-rated striker only broke into the first-team in January and in ten games, he's scored three goals, including a decisive winner over Aston Villa at the City Ground.

His movement, pace and eagerness off-the-ball are all things that have seen him endear himself to supporters in Nottingham but like Oliver Burke, there's a real chance he could be poached over the summer after such a short time at the club.

And with Leeds United challenging for promotion, should they get into the Premier League, there's certainly scope to suggest that a move for the talented youngster wouldn't be the worse idea in the slightest.

Leeds have been heavily reliant on Chris Wood for large spells this campaign and whilst the New Zealand international has been fantastic, he needs some competition in this side.

Souleymane Doukara hasn't done enough whilst Antonsson has been nowhere to be seen either.

Bringing in a young, hungry forward who has the potential to bite at the heels of senior pros might be exactly what the Whites need to really keep things fresh. And in a few years time, Brereton might be the man to lead the line full-time for the Whites.

After all, he's doing a pretty good job of it at the moment.
