Leeds United dropped out of the top two after Sheffield United took all three points at Elland Road on Saturday in the big Championship game of the weekend.

The defeat will inevitably have many Whites supporters wondering whether they have once again blown a massive chance of returning to the Premier League.

And, that's understandable. Over the years the Yorkshire club have fallen away rather alarmingly towards the end of the season and there will be fears that history is repeating itself.

However, Marcelo Bielsa is not one to overreact after a defeat and the fans shouldn't too.

Leeds are one point behind the Blades with eight games to go, so Saturday's defeat was by no means a defining blow.

More importantly, the side still played reasonably well. They had a lot of chances, with Tyler Roberts hitting the post after a good move the standout moment, whilst Pontus Jansson should've equalised late on too.

Ultimately, they were just wasteful on the day. Dean Henderson wasn't tested despite the many attempts from the home side - however these things happen.

It has to be said that Chris Wilder's side are very good and they edged what was a competitive clash between two of the best three sides in the league.

Leeds fans may be desperate to analyse why things didn't go their way on Saturday but there is no reason to panic.

There's a lot of football to be played and plenty of twists and turns will happen in the run-in, so the fans need to get behind what is the best side they've seen in years as they gear up for an exciting few final six weeks of the season.
