A number of Middlesbrough supporters have been reacting to Neil Warnock’s latest comments that Boro need to have a clear out in the summer of players who do not want to be at the Riverside.

Warnock’s side fell to a fourth defeat in their last five Championship matches on Saturday with a 2-1 loss against Queens Park Rangers. It was a defeat that highlighted a lot of the issues that have been present over the last few weeks as Boro have fallen adrift from the play-off places. It means that there is going to have to be a lot of soul searching at the club.

There was already an admission by Warnock ahead of the game against QPR that he thought he needed to have more of a transfer rebuild in the summer than he first thought. That came with him believing some players had been underperforming during Boro’s recent poor run of form in the Championship.

That could have been a wake-up call to the squad ahead of the end-of-season run-in. Instead, they were on the end of another frustrating result and could not get back into the game despite QPR having gone down to ten men. It is going to now be interesting to see if they can recover their form during the remaining matches of the campaign.

Speaking to the media after the game, Warnock confessed that he learned a lot about which players he needs to keep in the summer and which players he needs to help move on.

He said: “I got a few answers out there today. I think I know now who I need to get out and who I need to keep.”

Many Middlesbrough fans were left frustrated with these comments and some were wondering why they still feature if they do not want to be at the club next term.
