With 11 games played in the Championship we are starting to get a fair idea of who the genuine contenders for promotion will be come May.

As well as that, managers up and down the country are finding their best XI as they search for the right formula ahead of those tough winter months.

And, one side who look good on both counts for that are West Brom.

Slaven Bilic has made an instant impact at The Hawthorns, with his Albion side playing good, progressive football and looking like the team to beat in the second tier, backed up by the fact that they currently lead the way.

So, with a relatively settled side, some on the fringes may become disillusioned - with Hal Robson-Kanu one who knows he is going to struggle for regular game time.

Charlie Austin is the main man up front for the Baggies, with Kenneth Zohore's physicality making him a useful option if Bilic wants to play a different way.

With the Croatian set on a 4-2-3-1 formation, that obviously means three players are competing for one slot and the odds are stacked against Robson-Kanu moving forward.

Austin's finishing ability and track record at this level means that it's hard to see how he is dropped, whilst Zohore has clear qualities that can help the team in certain situations.

Therefore, the ex-Wales international has a choice to make in the coming months.

With the January window on the horizon, he could push for a move and at 30-years-old playing regularly surely has to be a priority for the former Reading man.

Or, he can accept that he will play a specific role for Bilic. The boss handed him a surprise start against Leeds at the start of the month, suggesting that he values his work off the ball and ability to run the channels.

Unfortunately for Robson-Kanu, a fixture at Elland Road is one of a select few that Albion would go into not expecting to dominate possession or control the tempo.

Essentially, that means he's unlikely to pick a striker because of his work rate again this season.

As mentioned, Robson-Kanu will know all this and he will be aware that he has a big personal decision to make in the coming months.

Is he happy to have a restricted role in a promotion push? Or would he take dropping to a lower Championship side that guaranteed him more minutes?

The ideal scenario of playing regularly for West Brom isn't going to happen for Robson-Kanu so he may have to look elsewhere.
