With the news that Rudy Austin has been let go by Leeds United, most fans are wondering why such a talented player would be allowed to leave.

Austin will have to leave the UK

The departure of Austin is definitely an oversight by the club, with a midfield that has all the technical abilities they needed, Austin was the only real physical presence at the club.

Since joining from SK Brann, Austin has been a good player for Leeds United. For a club that goes out and purchases less than average players on a whim, Austin is one of the only players that has performed for Leeds.

The Jamaican powerhouse is known for his strength on the ball and is able to not just hold on to the ball, but has the ability to carry the ball upfield with precision and power.

Often known for his attempts from long distances, Austin has been able to score some memorable goals for Leeds United and will be sorely missed by most fans of the club.

It's in no doubt that head coach Neil Redfearn wanted to keep Austin at the club. Along with former academy project Aidy White who has spent the season out injured and the decision to let both players go stinks of Cellino's current mission to undermine Redfearn.

In a side that severely lacks any Championship experience, Austin and White could have both been able to usher in the young players at Elland Road while holding versatility and back up for players in the squad.

It is already known that Cellino does not care about the opinions of Redfearn and his backroom staff but in this case, Cellino is out of order.

Even if the Italian owner does not respect the man that has kept Leeds up this year, he should know better than to lose a valuable asset for the club and Austin at 29 could have still been a stand out player for Leeds.

With a pre-season of uncertainty ahead for Leeds United, Austin will be able to leave the club knowing the fans are behind him in his future endeavours, and more than likely a Championship club will snap up the talented midfielder.
