Stan Collymore has been giving his assessment of Leeds United's prospects this season and it's drawn a huge reaction from their fans on social media.

Collymore has spoken in the printed Daily Mirror, via Twitter, of his concerns for the rampant Whites over a full season. Their scintillating start has got pulses racing at Elland Road, but Collymore has been dampening that spirit by suggesting they might not be able to keep it up over a whole season.

That, of course, has drawn the ire of some Leeds fans, although the points he's raised are certainly valid. With a fresh set of players and a pre-season behind them, it is easy to have endless reserves of energy, but Collymore's suggestion is that 14 or 15 players will need to show the resolve and application Tuesday and Saturday throughout the winter.

Therein lies the true test of Leeds' credentials, but his honest assessment hasn't saved him from an internet savaging. In amongst the voices of reason are barbed comments aimed at the former Forest striker, accusing him of offering opinions that mean very little.

Here's an eclectic mix of their responses.
