Sheffield Wednesday are amongst the chasing pack looking to break into the Sky Bet Championship play-off places.

Tuesday’s draw with Bristol City saw Carlos Carvalhal’s side slip to seventh in the Championship table.

Following last season’s play-off final appearance, there is still plenty of optimism around Sheffield that the Owls can return to the top-flight.

Wednesday have one of the best defences in the league, having only conceded 28-goals this season.

Their problems have come at the other end of the pitch. Fernando Forestieri is the club’s top goal scorer, with just eight goals.

Jordan Rhodes and Sam Winnall were brought in during the January transfer window, to bolster attacking options.

Here we look at TWO players who should have departed the club last month.....

Atdhe Nuhiu

Nuhiu is a player that has divided opinion at Sheffield Wednesday since his arrival in 2013.

The striker has failed to score this season in his 15 appearances across all competitions.

Opportunities have been limited this season, with Gary Hooper and Steven Fletcher preferred to partner Forestieri in Carvalhal’s 4-4-1-1 formation.

The additions of Winnall and Rhodes this month will see Nuhiu’s chances limited further.

Daniel Pudil

Pudil joined Wednesday from Watford during the summer transfer window, having spent last season on-loan at Hillsborough.

The left-back made a huge contribution to help the Owls reach the Championship play-off final last season.

However, opportunities have been hard to come by this season- Pudil has only featured 19 times this term.

Morgan Fox joined the club from Charlton Athletic during the January transfer window, and went straight into the team to face Bristol City last week.

Wednesday should have looked to move Pudil on during the January transfer window to accommodate Fox.
