QPR had slowly begun to pick up some form coming out of the Christmas period in the Championship and manager Ian Holloway has slowly begun to build a squad he feels can start climbing the table.

The additions of Ravel Morrison, Matt Smith and Luke Freeman were excellent deals to secure in January, especially considering the tight budget things have to be worked on these days down at Loftus Road.

We'll see how well the new-look Hoops will perform over the coming weeks but there's genuine thought amongst the fans that some deadwood in the side should have been moved on this window.

QPR seem to always be a club to continue keeping unused players on their ranks and Holloway had an excellent opportunity to get rid of some of those individuals in January but for whatever reason, opted to keep hold.

So, with that in mind, here's 2 players QPR should definitely have sold in January...

Karl Henry

Karl Henry was linked with a move away from Loftus Road all winter but not move came to fruition and once again, QPR have a player that's unlikely to feature on their books for the second half of the season ahead.

He'll be one of the higher earners in this squad too and you get the feeling the Hoops should have just cut their losses and got rid of a player who has been replacement by new signings.

Holloway needs to be ruthless with the players that aren't going to realistically feature and Henry was one name who should have been sold this January.

Abdenasser El Khayati

Striker Abdenasser El Khayati is the typical example of a casualty that has suffered due to managerial change.

One of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's first signings, the former Burton man has been shipped off to Eredivise strugglers Ado Den Haag for the remainder of the season but there's feeling that he should have just been sold instead.

He's another player who will return this summer and quite simply not play so perhaps it would have been better for QPR to have just cut their losses and got rid of a player who just isn't going to have a big enough impact going forward.
