Newcastle United fans were not pleased when the January transfer window slammed shut at 11pm last Tuesday without the club signing a single player.
Newcastle’s form has been a bit patchy lately and the fans were hoping that at least one big name signing could give their squad the lift that it needs.
Their lack of success in the transfer window already had Magpies’ fans in negative spirits and that was worsened still when they slipped to a 2-2 draw at home to Queens Park Rangers.
Ciaran Clark’s loopy header resulted in a 90th minute own goal to prevent Newcastle from taking all three points and going back to the top of the Championship table.
Newcastle have a large squad and Benitez could have done with trimming some of the fringe players to fund some moves for the likes of Andros Townsend or Mo Barrow.
Here are 2 players he should have sold.
