After Norwich City's relegation from the Premier League, Alex Neil faced the difficult task transitioning the side back to one that was capable of competing in the Championship.

It appeared that Alex Neil had done that perfectly as Norwich City started strongly, however, a dip in form saw Norwich fall down the table which they have been unable to recover from.

Over the past two transfer windows, Norwich City has seen a number of incomings and outgoings as they attempt to re-find their form and build a squad capable of competing at the top of the Championship.

This season of transition has seen some of Norwich's most highly-rated prospects leave Carrow Road to return to the Premier League.

In hindsight, despite the large transfer fees received, there may be regrets about some of Norwich City's departures as they have gone on to thrive at their new club.

FLW writer Elliott Wheat-Bowen looks at TWO players that have really thrived after leaving Norwich City....

Nathan Redmond

After joining Norwich from Birmingham City, Nathan Redmond was seen as one of the brightest talents in Norwich City's ranks.

However, in the summer, Southampton made an eight-figure offer that for the 23-year-old winger that Norwich City could not refuse.

The size of the fee offered by Southampton was enough to raise eyebrows as some thought that the Premier League club was overpaying for the inconsistent winger.

Although the England Under-21 international had the talent and ability to play at the highest level, Redmond had great difficulty finding a consistency where he could replicate his excellent performances on a weekly basis.

Despite the questions about Redmond's consistency, since joining Claude Puel's side, Redmond has been ever-present, making thirty-eight appearances in all competitions.

The extended run in the side has seen Nathan Redmond go from strength to strength and he is now thriving in the Premier League for Southampton since leaving Norwich City with some tipping him to be included in England's next national team squad.

Martin Olsson

A surprise move to some in the January transfer window was Swansea City's acquisition of Martin Olsson from Norwich City.

As part of a chain of transfers, the arrival of Martin Olsson saw Welsh international Neil Taylor go to Aston Villa as part of the deal for Ghanaian striker Jordan Ayew.

The implication of Neil Taylor's departure meant that Martin Olsson was given the opportunity to have a free run in Swansea City's starting line-up.

Following the arrival of Paul Clement, Martin Olsson has played a major role in a rejuvenated and reinvigorated Swansea City side.

As well as being defensively sound, the Swedish international has also contributed going forward as he has scored crucial goals against both Leicester City and Burnley.

Although there was some scepticism about the move and questions raised about if Olsson could be as effective in the Premier League, Olsson has thrived in the high-pressure environment and seems to be an extremely astute signing for Paul Clement's Swansea.
