Wolverhampton Wanderers are having a torrid time in the Sky Bet Championship this season with two managers unable to get the best out of the players, or perhaps they're not performing to the best of their ability.

Although financially, off the pitch, the club are doing superbly having made a neat profit from the last financial year, in a day and age when most teams struggle to even balance the books.

The Midlands outfit have also brought in not-so impressive replacements apart from winger Helder Costa who was worth spending millions on admittedly, but it was a huge gamble to take in the first place and they did the right thing with an initial loan deal.

In the last 2/3 years, Wolves have sold some of their key players and that hasn't helped with performances, much like what we have viewed for most of the campaign, and they surely regret allowing those first-team squad members to leave.

Here are TWO players who thrived after leaving Wolverhampton Wanderers....

David Davis

David Davis enjoyed five years at Molineux having graduated from the club's academy in 2009, but his time at Wolves was mostly spent on loan at other teams around the country and beyond; including Inverness Caledonian Thistle in Scotland.

The 26-year-old decided to call it time in Wolverhampton when Kenny Jackett continued favour a different midfielder that didn't involve Davis, frustration grew and he joined regional rivals Birmingham City.

Whilst they may be in the same division as each other, David Davis has thrived at the Blues since moving there in 2014 and is definitely enjoying his role at St. Andrew's - even if their form isn't much better than Wolves'.

Leigh Griffiths

The Scotland striker spent three seasons in the Midlands after succeeding in his homeland, and signing for Wolverhampton Wanderers following impressive form north of the border.

Leigh Griffiths doesn't have much to moan about during his time at Wolves - winning silverware in the shape of the League One title and becoming one of the club's most prolific forwards in modern history.

Although the 26-year-old joined Celtic on deadline day of the January transfer window in 2014, and quickly became a fan favourite in Glasgow, just as he did at Molineux.

In over 100 appearances for the Scottish giants, Griffiths has scored more than half showing a vast improvement in his already eye for the back of the net.

He has most definitely thrived upon departing the Championship side.

Wolves fans, what are your thoughts? Was it a blow selling David Davis and Leigh Griffiths or was the club right to let them go? Let us know your opinions in the comments below!
